Shine Micro, Inc. Announces Ethernet Interface for the RadarPlus® SA161-MH Airborne AIS Receiver

Port Ludlow, WA, March 15, 2010 – Shine Micro, Inc., an industry leader in Automatic Identification System (AIS) technology, announces availability of the RadarPlus® SA161-MH airborne AIS receiver with Ethernet interface. The Ethernet module is configurable as TCP/IP or UDP full duplex at a speed of 10 Mbps (10Base-T).

Airborne AIS receivers greatly enhance the coverage range of vessel tracking and maritime surveillance applications.

SA161-MH The RadarPlus® SA161-MH airborne AIS receiver is a Mil-Spec solution certified to MIL-Std-704A and F, MIL-Std-461, and MIL-Std-810E. The unit features an industry-leading sensitivity of PER < 20% at -115 dBm, low power consumption of less than 5 watts, Type 1 Dzus Rail-mount form factor, integrated 12-channel GPS receiver, and exclusive Shine Micro Enhanced Signal Analysis Package software. Additional features include an Alodined aluminum case that resists corrosion and is light weight, NVIS compatible paint, and a non-flashing, NVIS-compatible power LED.

The SA161-MH features both an Ethernet and an RS-232 serial interface. Both protocols may be utilized to receive data from the device simultaneously. Commands are configurable to be either protocol, allowing users to easily integrate this unit with pre-existing and newer communication systems.

The SA161-MH joins a growing line of airborne AIS receivers developed by Shine Micro.
