Purpose of the Job
Shine Micro is seeking an experienced TI DSP Software Development Engineer to work in a fast-paced team environment at our Port Ludlow office. The selected candidate will be part of a small engineering team performing research and development for Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA), IoT and Ocean of Things (OoT). The candidate must have an intimate knowledge of TI DSPs and TI Code Composer.

From the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Nationwide Automatic Identification System (NAIS) to the invention and patent of Class B AIS transmission protocol (CSTDMA), Shine Micro specializes in innovation and optimization of AIS, including VHF technology for Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) monitoring and Small Vessel Tracking (SVT).

Essential Duties
- Develop SDR-based products using TI C54XX, TI MSP430 and TI Code Composer in both Windows and Linux environments
- Work simultaneously on projects in different phases, including support of legacy products
- Work within multiple disciplines: software, firmware, electrical, mechanical and technical writing
- Design at the system block level, modeling RF systems and/or wireless communication networks
- Collaborate with antenna and circuit designers on novel RF systems and algorithms
- Integration and testing of software designs
- Contribute to overall maintenance of software
- Produce documentation of specifications and test plans
- Other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Experience with TI C54XX, TI MSP430 and TI Code Composer, C, C++, and Python
- Understanding of embedded design considerations including memory management, microprocessor architectures, instruction efficiency, and I/O timing
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies (languages, patterns, signal analysis, etc.)
- Strong analysis and mathematical skills
- Effective oral and written communications skills and an ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of configuration management tools

RF ENGINEER

Required Skills
- Experience designing low noise receivers and amplifiers in the DC-2Ghz range.
- Power amplifier design to 25W.
- Background in software-defined radios desirable.
- Design, test, and troubleshoot RF / electronic circuits and embedded firmware.
- Perform RF integrated circuit simulations using SPICE and RF simulation software.
- Work closely with RF system design engineer to ensure RF System requirements are met from concept through volume production.
- Be actively involved in the full design cycle from specification definition to subassembly and final product testing.
- Experienced in surface mount design and assembly practices.
- Antenna design experience preferred.
- TIC54x DSP, C, C++ and assembly programming a plus.

RF TECHNICIAN

Purpose of the Job
Shine Micro, Inc. is seeking an additional RF Technician to work in a fast paced team environment at our Port Ludlow office. The RF Technician will be trained to perform a variety of tasks including; Test, troubleshoot and repair of RF receivers/transceivers, GPS receivers, VHF electronic equipment and DC/DC converters at the PCB and final assembly level. Experience working under ISO9001 and AS9100 or similar working practices and procedures is highly desirable. Experience using signal generators, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers and test techniques related to electronic circuits is added bonus. Responsibilities may include testing, troubleshooting to component level, and repair of RF and digital circuit boards and electronic and/or electro-mechanical assemblies.
Essential Duties
- Test, troubleshoot and repair analog and digital circuits
- Prepare written reports, process RGA and repair paperwork
- Ensure on-going adherence to established ISO 9000 quality and workmanship standards
- Ensure on time repair of customer products as scheduled
- Utilize appropriate Bill of Material and repair procedures
- Monitor condition of test equipment and test fixtures
- May assist in the training of new staff or cross-train current staff to support
- Required to perform the job functions in a safe manner
- Other duties as assigned.
